Empowering Youth. Building Emotional Strength

VIBES HISTORY

VIBES (Vital Interventions for Building Emotional Strength) was founded with the core mission of supporting at-risk youth, particularly those in out-of-home care (OOHC), juvenile justice, and the broader community, to navigate the challenges they face in their emotional and behavioural development.

The journey began when Lucy Kell, a passionate advocate for young people with complex needs, recognised the gap in tailored, trauma-informed services. After years of experience working in youth support, child welfare, and juvenile justice, Lucy set out to create a service that not only provides therapeutic intervention but also prioritises building lasting relationships with young people, their families, and support networks.

What sets VIBES apart is its personalised, holistic approach to behavioural support and emotional well-being. Instead of using a one-size-fits-all method, VIBES designs individualised support plans that are tailored to each young person’s unique circumstances, including Functional Behavioural Assessments (FBA), Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), and crisis intervention services.

VIBES is also committed to empowering the people around these young individuals through staff training, parent education, and community engagement, ensuring that support continues beyond the sessions and into everyday life. This comprehensive approach ensures that clients receive the right interventions, strategies, and ongoing support to build resilience, regulate emotions, and develop the life skills they need to succeed.
